The new work "Antiphonies" (on themes by William Byrd) by Oliver Waespi was premiered to great acclaim at the European Brass Band Championships 2023 in Malmö (S) by the Black Dyke Band under the baton of its musical director Prof Nicholas Childs.

"Antiphonies" was commissioned by Black Dyke Band for the EBBC 2023 in Malmö. Under the inspirational direction of Nicholas Childs, the Black Dyke Band with its numerous outstanding soloists were able to deploy an extrordinary palette of musicality, technique and athmospheres, gaining them the win of the own-choice division of the contest.
