Flowers European Champions with West Wind

At the 2026 European Brass Band Championships, held at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, the Flowers Band, conducted by their musical director Paul Holland, was crowned European Champions following their performance of West Wind - Methamorphoses for Brass Band by Oliver Waespi.
The Flowers Band set the standard early, topping the field with 98 points for their performance of Alienus by Thomas Doss on Friday, 24 April 2026. Their rendition of West Wind – Metamorphoses for Brass Band on Saturday, 25 April 2026, was received with rapturous applause by the capacity audience and secured their triumph. West Wind had been commissioned specifically for this event.
With this outstanding achievement, Flowers Band won the European Championships on their very first appearance, bringing back to England the most coveted title in the brass band world.
